The many uses of old broken and unwanted jewelry.

It’s no secret the vast majority of the gold on the market right now was recycled or reclaimed old Jewelry. This got me thinking about other ways to use these no longer wanted broken and damaged treasures. I found that with a bit of creativity, ingenuity and skill that many of these unwanted pieces could be worked in such a way as to create an entirely different piece of jewelry. With the addition of gem stones and other cut and shaped pieces of precious metal, an old ring can become a stunning new pendant.  This process can also be utilized in updating old rings pendants or bracelets and make them into something more contemporary and more appealing to a younger crowd.

This can be done with so many things that the possibilities are endless. In fact the pieces of jewelry themselves will often tell you what they want to be.  Their shapes and lines will show you what to do, once you are able to see the details and possibilities beyond the original design. Once you are able to let go of the original design, then the only issue you face is all the amazing ideas you come up with and which one to use. As you can see in the picture below this was once a ring, pendant, and some recycled gold and transformed into this beautiful pendant.

Please don’t let those broken treasures go to waste collecting dust.

Recycle, Reuse, and Enjoy.
